For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

God values humans so much that God gave us the most precious gift:  God’s only Son.  If humans put their trust and faith in God, then a human’s soul will not die when the body dies.  Instead, that soul will live forever with God.
