That’s a new twist.

A ‘new twist’ is a new or different way of thinking about something, doing something, or telling a story.  If you are telling an old, familiar story, it could be said that you are giving the story a ‘new twist’.  Or, if someone does some work in non-traditional way with funny results, someone else might say ‘Well, that was a new twist’.
