Molehills are small mounds of loose dirt left on the surface of the ground by animals that dig and live underground.  A mountain is large.  The idiom make a mountain out of a molehill means to have too big a reaction to a small problem.  ‘Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.’  ‘He made a mountain out of a molehill.’
