Over hard

This figure of speech also refers to frying eggs.  It is similar to eggs that are fried ‘over easy’, except that after the eggs are flipped, they are cooked much longer, until the yolk is solid, or ‘hard’.  If you like your eggs cooked like that, in an American restaurant you can order them ‘over hard’.  ‘I want my eggs over hard.’
