This is similar to ‘button your lip’.  It means ‘close your mouth’.  (It comes from using a zipper to close something like a jacket.)  Sometimes it is said during an argument between people who know each other.  Someone could just be saying something to you that is very offensive.  So you can sternly tell them to ‘zip it’.
