These are the words of Jesus. He is teaching that those persons who are proud and self-righteous will be brought low, but the person who is a faithful believer in God, and who does not brag about that fact, and who does not expect to receive any special treatment, will become honored and lifted up by God. 因為上帝要把那自高的人降為卑微，卻高舉自甘卑微的人。<路加福音18:14>
