歌羅西書第3章第1節

In this verse, the word ‘if’ should be understood to mean ‘since’, or ‘because of the fact that’.  Paul writes in a way that says ‘if’ (something is true),‘then’ (there should be a particular result).  In this verse, the word ‘then’ is not written; it should be understood: ‘if you have been raised to new life in Christ, (then) seek heavenly things (not things that satisfy earthly desires).

在這句經句裡，‘if若’這個字應該是被理解為‘since既然’或‘因為’。保羅這樣寫是說‘if若’(某件事是真的)，‘then那麼’(應該有一個特別的結果)。在這句經句裡，‘then那麼’這個字沒有被寫下來；它應該被理解為：‘若你們真與基督一同在新生命裡復活’，(那麼)就當求天國的事(不是滿足世俗慾望的事)。
