They’re going to tie the knot, or, they’re going to get hitched.

These are figures of speech that refer to getting married.  In some traditions, when a couple got married, a piece of long, narrow, thin, special cloth (fabric) was tied around their wrists.  In older cultures, when something was connected or joined to another, they were hitched.  It was common to refer to marriage as getting hitched.
